Apis mellifera Caucasica Garbosthov Protection Studies and Widespread Impacts Inside Of The Domestic Animal Genetic Resources Conservation Project

Viewed : 1454 - Downloaded : 795 Apis Mellifera Caucasica Garbosthov breed has been preserved in the natural range according to the decree of 2005/8503 which is about the supporting livestock since 2008. The study is being continued uninterruptedly as of 2014. The honey bee production activities which had covered for five years from the project start date in the five villages of the Ardahan province Posof District which are protection region were investigated in this study. Widespread impact of the Apis Mellifera Caucasica Garbosthov breed conservation and development project was tried to reveal. The data were obtained from fieldwork, relevant institutions and interviews with beekeepers. The beekeeping has been ongoing since the very earliest in this area. This region has suitable conditions for conservation of the Apis Mellifera Caucasica Garbosthov and organic beekeeping. This region has very rich plant diversity. At the same time beekeeping is known as traditionally by the local people. Excessive rainfall, bear damages, lack of training and marketing problems are limited the production level. If these problems are solved and the supports are increased beekeeping will be a good level in the region. The public opinion of the Turkey has interested in the conservation supports of the local people. The supports provide to understood importance and value of Apis Mellifera Caucasica Garbosthov.
